It really is one of the simple pleasures of life! This is a suprisingly easy recipe that will wow your friends and family.

Inspiration...

Where there are dreams, there are inspirations. Inspiration is the first spark to your dreams. When it comes to me, a certain place always provides inspiration. That would be Martha Greens bakery and diner in Redlands, CA. As a child, (and even sometimes now) you would find me standing in front of her bakery Dough'Lectibles in a gaze. It was in those moments that I realized my passion for baking. And upon reflecting on those moments, I realize the dedication I have in accomplishing my dream. Martha Green and her bakery are the outline of what I would like to accomplish myself. With that said, here are a few pictures of the lady herself and her establishment.

Baking Memories...

As October rolled around, I found myself realizing my nephews 2nd birthday was in a few short weeks and I still needed to find a way to make a cake look like a cars race track. Nick (my nephew) is obsessed with the Disney movie Cars, so rightfully so I made him a personal cars cake and 70 some other cupcakes for the huge guest list. It was not an easy task but it was well worth it to see my nephews eyes pop out there sockets when he realized that Lightning McQueen and Mater were on top of his Birthday cake. The cake I made was funfettia with a cream cheese frosting. The food Cars special food coloring can be found at most party stores. The street is crushed oreos and the grass in coconut dyed green.

Baking it off...

Since I have declared my destiny as a baker, my family has taken it upon themselves to exploit this decision to the max. For every occasion theres no need to run to the store when you have Baker Beth in the kitchen. This can be a blessing or a curse. I love to bake and smile at every opportunity I get to do so...but there are days that I am more inclined to sit back and veg out rather than search through my mothers disorganized kitchen for the long lost baking soda. I think everyone can relate, but I have found a solution to this problem and it lies within a  record player. When frustration gets the best of me, instead of taking it out on the food, I pop on a Beatles record and simply..."Let it Be".

A Pictures Worth a Thousand Words

Tiramisu
This was my first major triumph. It took over 4 hours and a ton of egg whites...but I made it!  For those of your who are unaware of what Tiramisu even is, it is ladyfinger cookies dipped in fresh espresso and layered with an amaizing creme mixture. Its a must try dessert. Either order at the next Italian restaurant your at or contact me and I can bake you some.
Rugalech
For the longest time I didn't even know what rugalech was. But one night a good friend of mine saw it in my cookbook and said she remembered her Nanny baking it for her. So one night we got together and made the old time recipe. Its a hungarian cookie that has a unique taste.

Lemon Buttermilk Cupcakes
These were silky smooth with a hint of lemon. They were the first dessert I baked from my new cookbook "The Culinary Institute of Americas: Baking at Home".

Oreo Ice Cream Cake
This was for my best friends birthday. She has an obbsession for oreo ice cream so this was the perfect dessert. It is a chocolate cake layered with oreo ice cream and iced with cool whip. It was suprisingly easy to make, however it is time consuming.

My First Wedding Cake
This was my brothers wedding cake that I baked at the young age of 18. It's a white cake layered with fresh strawberries and a old fashion vanilla butter frosting from my mothers Betty Crocker Cookbook. This cake embodied the simple eligance of my brothers wedding.
My Sisters Baby Shower
Emma is my neice who I adore. I made these 4 cakes before she was born for my sisters babyshower. The 4 cakes are strawberry cake layered with fresh strawberries and cream cheese frosting. The piping for this dessert was clean and simple to go along with the playful girliness of the baby shower.

Upon viewing my blog I realized how dry it is. To give you an idea of what I love most, I brought my pictures. As they say a picture is worth a thousand words...

Passion...

Passion is key. A life without passion is like a world with no color. Or better yet, food without flavor. Passion is one of the many spices of life (I hope thats not too much of a cliche). Whats the point to living if there's no passion or flavor? With that said,  it is essential to posses passion in your career. Being passionate about what you do is a key ingredient  to success.
My biggest passion is baking. I've practically been baking since I could crawl and have decided to pursue it in a career. Thats why I'm here. I AM going to open a bakery...someday. In the mean time I'll be here enhancing my baking skills and deepening my passion for food.
